Two cadenzas for Mozart’s K. 466 · Simon Ghraichy

Wolfy’s was commissioned by the piano festival of the city of Lille for Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K. 466.
Jacopo Baboni Schilingi recomposed the cadenzas of the first and third movements using material drawn from Mozart’s own music. He created two cadenzas for piano, augmented pianist and live-computer electronics, an approach characteristic of his work.
Wolfy’s was premiered by Simon Ghraichy. Deutsche Grammophon also produced the video of this creation presented here.
