Metapolis is a virtual reality installation created for the Marco de Monterrey Museum in Mexico in 2002. The viewer is plunged into a 400 sq.m interactive environment made up of fragments of images in 2D and 3D of the city of Monterrey, a computer-generated soundscape by Jacobo Baboni-Schilingi which evokes the characteristic sounds of the city, and a computer-generated text sequence which was created by Jean-Pierre Balpe. This original work explores the generic and imagined principles that link all the world's megalopolises. It will be presented in a variety of locations around the world to become a city of cities, a multidisciplinary global village.
