"Venus à gonds" is an interdisciplinary and interactive work.
It was presented in Paris in 2000 (ISEA-2000).
It is a creation of three artists: Arman for sculpture, Jacopo Baboni Schilingi for music and Tita Reut for poems.
The"Venus à gonds" born from the meeting of Arman, Baboni Schilingi and Tita Reut in 1997, during the presentation of a spectacle by Baboni Schilingi at IRCAM. Arman then asks Baboni Schilingi to design an interactive system so that its Venus can produce music and play pre-written texts, as soon as someone touches one of eight magnetic sensors whose statue is equipped.
Tita Reut then written texts inspired the mode of operation of the Venus. Registered by the voice of Tita and Arman, these texts are recombined every time the key public sculpture. Similarly, the music of Baboni Schilingi permanently follows the movements of the sculpture, in proportion to the magnitude of the statue. The statue is more "open" more music and texts are played strong and recombined in complex ways.
