Genus Naturæ is organised in three successive areas, through which the spectator/visitor will journey: a walkway carpeted with different materials, and which produce characteristic sounds (gravel, glass, nutshells, twigs, grass...) a central covered space housing semi-rigid sculptures made from plant fibres and glass; a willow, liana and bamboo mini-forest. Each of the three areas/zones is equipped with proximity and contact microphones, pressure and motion sensors, and loudspeakers, all well hidden from sight. As the public pass through the different areas, they interact with computer-generated music, their presence activating a real-time recording of surrounding sounds, which mix in with pre-recorded universal sounds. The public modify the parameters of the musical composition themselves, by their movements.
