Iris belongs to the cycle of compositions Highly, with Spatio Intermisso, Decode-II, HUGE, Aura, Igitur, Insana Nocte, etc... Highly is a cycle of compositions intended as a tribute to the music performers. Very often playing a composition of contemporary music there is a real discrepancy between virtuosity displayed during the concert and many hours of study. However, Highly is based on the pre-existing experiences of the musician, and it requires an exceptional virtuoso work. The singer has to be herself, but as speed and fast as she can. The composition is spectacular in this. The execution speed of the interpreter is close to a sporting achievement. The musician has to play musical figures written as fast as possible (really!) so that it is impossible to play "exactly" the proposed figures. Thus the concept of error, or mistake, is transformed into a heuristic vision. There are no possible mistakes. Only the musical intentions are invoked. Somehow the notion of error does not exist anymore, it disappears making a “dramatic” speed interpretation of this composition. To give a token of the speed of execution of this kind of composition, usually Highly cannot be played twice in a day… The musician needs a "very" long moment of rest after having performed it, because it is an athletic challenge for the player. Highly is, in other words, more a guided performance than a normal score. But at the same time, everything is written into the score.
